Commerce Bank Unveils New Building Plans

Corinth, Miss. – Commerce Bank, Corinth’s only locally owned bank, announced today that the design plans for their new 17,215 square-foot, two-story main office have been approved by their Board of Directors and that they intend to start construction in early Fall.  The projected opening of this facility in late 2019 marks the twentieth year of operations for Commerce Bank in Corinth and Alcorn County.  The bank’s new facility will be located on the city block bordered by Taylor, Bunch, Webster, and Childs Streets in downtown Corinth.

“After months of planning, we have agreed on an exterior design that features an iconic clock tower on the southwest corner and an entrance off Taylor Street that will be flanked by columns supporting a balcony overlooking downtown,” said Frank Davis, President and CEO of Commerce Bank.    The overall style of the facility will be a classic, traditional brick design that will complement and blend with the existing buildings in downtown.

“The revitalization efforts in Corinth and Alcorn County over the past few years have set the stage for continued success of our community, and we are positioning our company to support this growth.  Our hope is that this facility will look like it has been here for many years and it will become integral piece of the fabric of our historic downtown,” said Mr. Davis.

“Expanding our capacity to serve our growing customer base has always been the primary aim of this project,” stated Chairman Hull Davis. Customer services will be expanded to include a three-lane drive-thru capable of serving six customers simultaneously, as well as an ATM in the outer lane.  The large interior lobby will provide customers with an expanded teller service area and safe deposit vault, new account offices, and lending offices for consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending.  The second floor will house the executive offices, meeting and training rooms, and the Operations, IT, and compliance departments.

The interior design of the lobby is more modern in style than the exterior and features a glass-etched logo wall behind the teller-line and a large waiting area.  “We want our lobby to be open and comfortable for our customers, while also giving privacy for account and lending discussions,” said Mr. Frank Davis.

Eclipse Brand Builders was selected to provide turnkey design-build services for the project, including architecture, engineering, interior design and full-time on-site construction management. Eclipse will execute the construction of the project using local sub-contractors and local suppliers for all labor and building materials through a competitive bid process, keeping construction dollars in the community.
